Spring Kyushu Fair @ Tampines Mall (30 Mar - 8 Apr 2012)

When I received them mailer on Kyushu Fair, I got pretty excited seeing all those yummilicious photos.  I also informed my Multiply friends about this food fair and I met two of them at the fair.  Haha...
We reached Tampines Mall at around 5.30pm and the whole place was already very crowded.  We decided to fill up our stomach with proper meal first so hubby went to queue for ramen.  The queue was not very long but got to wait quite a while.  I "chopped" a standing place with a small hgh table as all the seats were occupied.  Hiaz.. paid $30 for 2 bowls of ramen and got to eat in such an unconducive place.  Luckily,we met a nice lady who was about to finish her food and she waved to us to tell us to go over to have her seat.  :)  :)

Before attacking the ramen, I saw that there was no queue at the croquette stall so I bought 2 croquettes back for supper.  They have quite a variety like butter, onion, curry and corn croquettes.
Hubby's Special Red Ramen which was spicy and he finished up everything in the bowl including the soup. ($15)
Some minced meat and also bean sprouts in the bowl of ramen.
He ordered the Special Black Ramen for me.  ($15)
I still prefer the ramen from Ramen Champion at T3, especially from Ikkousha.  I didn't finish up the soup for my black ramen as towards the end, it was already cold and oily.  (I am a slow eater... Heehee...).  The eggs were also not done properly.

I will still come back to the fair tomorrow for the cakes.

Supper tonight:
Heating up the 2 croquettes that I bought at the fair in our new oven.
Potato Croquette ($2.50) and Corn Croquette ($3.50).  I like the corn one as inside had a creamy texture.

Poy Kee Yong Tau Foo @ People's Park Food Centre

After going some googling on the famous Yong Tau Foo at People's Park Food Centre, I realized that this stall is not the one which gathers the longest queue.  I suppose the more famous one had already closed by the time we reached there.

Simple but nice yong tau foo.  The soup was sweet.

O'Coffee Club @ Tampines One using Groupon Voucher

I bought 2 vouchers from Groupon: $10 for $20 Worth of Gourmet Food and Drinks in 15 Locations Islandwide last year and only to realize that they were going to expire the following day when I checked for their validity dates.

There was a queue when we reached, most of the customers, like us, were holding th Groupon vouchers.  We waited patiently and we got a seat after around 20 mins later.  We were greeted by a friendly female staff and she apologized to us for having to queue so long.  She also pointed to us the dishes which were already not available.  A bit disappointed because all those were the more popular ones that we had wanted to order.

My of order "Skippers' Delight Penne" - Pan-fried fillets topped with aromatic lemon, garlic and rosemary crust on a bed of penne, drenched in a robust lobster sauce.  Hubby also ordered a fish main course.  He didn't have much choice actually.  His order was basil Pesto Sauce with Clam Chowder Linguine.
 Mud-Pie
Spotted a happening hippo at Tampines One Shopping Mall.  Heehee...

Mad Jack @ White Sands Shopping Mall

Update:  [Closed] 2013
Friday lunch with colleagues 2 weeks ago before the school holiday.  Original plan was to go Manhatten Fish Market as colleague had some discount vouchers.  However, when we reached there, the queue was very long.  As my colleagues need to rush back school for meeting, we didn't queue for Manhatten but we changed our venue to Mad Jack instead.
I ordered the "Crazy Set" - Mad Cow Burger & Chips Set Lunch which is available from 11.30am to 5.30pm.  The set consists of Soup of the Day and a glass of Pepsi. ($9.90 without service charge)
