Eat, Shop, Eat... (Platinum Fashion Mall and Street Stalls) - Day 4

After the visit to the Purr Cat Cafe Club, we went to Platinum Fashion Mall for lunch and some shopping.  We went back to our favourite foodcourt at Platinum Fashion Mall for lunch.  We had stewed pork rice from Stall 1 and I would strongly recommend you to try this.  This plate of stewed meat was so tasty and cost only 45 baht (less than S$2!).

Again, we ordered a plate of oyster omelette to share.  :)  The queue was long as usual.
I love this accessory shop as they have a huge variety of earrings design at an affordable price.
Some of the earrings and bracelets that I bought from this shop.
We bought quite a number of interesting-designed T-shirts (more than 10!) from this shop.  It is located right in front of the escalator.  Each T-shirt cost less than S$5 and the colours don't run after washing.

After hours spent at the shopping mall, we decided to go somewhere else for dinner.  As we walked out from Platinum Mall towards the CentralWorld mall, we saw many street stalls and we decided to settle our dinner here to experience dining along the street in Bangkok.  We were concerned with the level of hygiene initially.  We continued walking along the street until the last stall (the stall nearest to CentralWorld) and observed for a while how they prepared their food.  Eventually, we found it quite acceptable and we had our dinner here.

Salt-coated Grill Fish.  Do not eat the skin as it was coated with a thick layer of salt.  Dip the meat with the chilli provided for more flavour.
The crab meat fried rice was also served with the same type of chilli dip.
After dinner, we walked over to Siam area for more shopping and photo-taking as this was our last night in Bangkok before going back to Singapore the next day.

Purr Cat Cafe Club @ Bangkok - Day 4

Purr Cat Cafe Club was one of my must-visit places during this Bangkok trip.  I have not been to any cat cafe in Singapore and my trip was made in early December, before the Cuddles Cat Cafe Singapore saga.  To get to Purr Cat Cafe, you can take the BTS to Thong Lo station, exit 1 and from there, you need to walk for around 15 minutes to reach the cafe.

We were the first customers of the day and it was great having the whole cafe almost to ourselves, besides the staff.  Before entering the cafe, we were told to wash our hands and also to take off our shoes and changed to their slippers provided.

This cat seemed to be a bit introvert, always trying to hide at somewhere on its own.

We ordered a cup of hot chocolate (right) and a cup of flat white.  Do not leave your food and drinks on the table if you are not around as the cats will eat/ drink them!  I didn't keep the receipt and if I am not wrong, they only charged us for the drinks.  No cover charge.
Look at all the fur on the sofa...
 Cat on a scratcher.

This really looked like a cat plushie.

My favourite Persian cat at the cafe.  It seemed to like my red bag a lot.

Yay!  Managed to get the cat to look at the camera.  Currently, this is also my whatsapp profile photo!  :)

You can click on my facebook link HERE if you want to view more photos of the cats.  Meow!

Chocolate Ville, Bangkok (Part 2) - Day 3

After a long wait, we could finally enter Chocolate Ville at 4pm.  As it was still too early for dinner, we went around to explore the place and took more photos.

 Guess where is this?

It was the washroom.  It was really very spacious and clean.
Photo with Mr Snowman.  Surprisingly, it didn't melt under the hot scorching sun.
There is a viewing tower here and we went up twice to view the scenery during daytime as well as night time.

View from the top of the tower.

We didn't make any reservation (through their facebook page) prior to our trip.  It was okay though because there were lots of seats here and the staff told us we could just "walk in" and chose where we wanted to be seated.
I chose our seats facing this view.

 What is in the menu?
It was mostly western fare.

French Onion Soup with a layer of cheese on top.

These pork ribs were delicious!  Meat was tender and it was easy to tear the meat off from the bones.
The seafood squid ink pasta, on the other hand, was a disappointment.  It was far too spicy and we couldn't finish it.

The place was beautiful especially during dawn.

After dinner, we went up to the viewing tower again to take some aerial night shots of Chocolate Ville.

Cabs were aplenty at the carpark so you need not worry about not being able to find a cab to take you back to the city.  Standard rate back to the city was 300 baht.  They claimed that there would be heavy traffic at night, that was not true of course.  They were just trying to justify why the rate was more expensive than the fare we were charged from the city to Chocolate Ville.  Our journey back was very smooth and we reached the city in half an hour.
