Bangkok Trip June 2015 - Flying off to the Land of Smiles :)

During the June holidays, I went for a short 4-day Bangkok trip with my colleagues.  I was in charge of booking the air-tickets and again, I booked the tickets through www.zuji.com.  We decided to take Thai Airways instead of budget airlines as the ticket cost $310 per pax, including all taxes, service fee etc and most importantly, 30kg luggage each.  Our flight (TG402) was scheduled to depart at 7.40am and thus, we were required to reach the airport Terminal One at 5.40am! *Yawnz*

Hubby drove me and one of my colleagues who stayed nearby, to the airport before he went to work.  After checking-in at the airport, we went for breakfast at Killiney.

Our inflight meal on Thai Airways - I chose Spicy Noodles with Seafood over the usual omelette sausage breakfast set.

Quite spicy but overall, it was tasty.
Touching down soon after 2 hours... :)

126 搵到食@ Geylang

My colleague drove us to Geylang for lunch on a Friday.  We had a staff workshop on that day and had a longer lunch break of around one and a half hour.  This gave us ample time to venture a bit further from Pasir Ris area.

At first, we thought that just because of their unit number 126, it is thus called 126.  Later, we realized that the three Chinese characters are pronounced as Wan Dou Sek (搵到食) in Cantonese, meaning "found a place to eat" which also sounds like "One Two Six" (126).  Interesting!

Anyway, the eatery looks really like those old school dim sum place in Hong Kong where tables are arranged very closely to one another.  This place also opens 24 hours daily!  Now you know where to go for supper.  :P
Our drink - Sugar Cane with Lemon, was served in a plastic container that we normally use for takeaway soup or noodles.
Deep-fried intestines.  The "skin" tasted like roasted chicken skin, quite crispy.
Chee Cheong Fun is a "must-try" dish here. It was served with a generous special thick sauce over the rice rolls, very different from the common ones that we normally have.
Pork Belly Bun
The chunky meat was wrapped in thin skin which was quite soaked with the sauce.
We ordered a few other dishes like Siew Mai, Crystal dumplings etc.  I quite like this place as it makes me feel as if I am in Hong Kong.  I would love to bring hubby here to try out other special dim sums that they have.  The only problem probably - Parking.

Meiji Run 2015 @ Palawan Beach, Sentosa

Meiji Run 2015

I love Meiji milk!

Yogurt Pool.  We didn't want to try this because we were not prepared to get our legs dirty.

After the run, everybody started to "picnic" on the beach.
Happened to meet my colleague at the event too!  :)
We did an hour of yoga too after the run.
Our entitlement after the run.

Pauline and I stayed until the end of the event.  We were also the last few who managed to take photos with the mascots.
Meiji Fair was still open for the last few customers.  The Meiji products were selling at a cheaper price at the fair.  However, I didn't get any.  :(  It was troublesome to carry them back as I was taking the MRT back and I was also carrying my yoga mat.

My cute Meiji Run 2015 medal.

Collection of Meiji Run Pack/ Lunch at Marco Marco, Velocity @ Novena

After a successful Venus Run in March with a few gal friends, we decided to sign up for another run in May:  The Meiji Run - The World's Most Delicious Run!

The race pack collection was held at Velocity @ Novena.  Queue was short and everything was settled promptly.

After that, hubby and I went to find a place for our lunch.  I spotted Marco Marco right above the race pack collection area and remembered seeing this restaurant name in my Entertainer's App.  We went up to take a look.  It is a like a fast food restaurant, selling different types of panini, pasta and pizza.  We ordered our food and got our seats inside the restaurant.

While waiting for our food to arrive, I took out the Meiji Run's plushies - The "Meiji Cow" and "Hello Panda" out for a photoshoot.  We paid $65 for the race and we were entitled with a running T-shirt (Moo Moo design... Haha), Cooler bag, ONE plushie, Race Bib, Medal, Meiji Land bowl and cup.  As I wanted both cow and panda, I topped up another $9.90 to get both!
Food that we ordered:
Palmero Pizza - Consisting of Turkey Ham, Button Mushroom and Tomato ($13.90).

For pasta, we ordered "The Roma" - Spaghetti with Bacon, Parmesan Cheese, Pecorino Cheese, Chives and topped with an egg ($11.90).
Food was decent and with the Entertainer App 1-for-1, we spent less than $14 for the two dishes!
