Fatcat Ice-Cream Bar (Charcoal Waffle Finally...)

After a disappointing visit at Fatcat almost half a year ago, I revisited Fatcat Ice-cream Bar last Friday after lunch with my colleagues at Nakhon Kitchen around the same area.  We reached around 10 minutes before opening hours (1pm) and we were the first customers this time!  So don't tell me there wasn't any Charcoal Waffle!  

Important!  Do note the different operating hours for each day.

 Their menu is quite limited.  We ordered the Charcoal Waffle ($6) with added Salted Egg Yolk Sauce ($1).

 We chose Pistachio Ice-cream to top it up on our waffle.

 I would recommend topping up $1 for the addition of the sauce.  The waffle indeed didn't disappoint and the flavour was greatly enhanced by the salted egg yolk sauce.  The gourmet waffle was also served with caramel sauce  around it with sprinkle of dried lavender.  Indeed, you can get an instagram-worthy photo from this.

Concert Series in the Park - All that JAZZ (Admiralty Park)

There was a free jazz concert last Saturday evening at Admiralty Park.  Decided to travel all the way from East to West to enjoy this concert mainly to catch Sebastian Tan and the funny host Chua Enlai,

 There were many dragonflies here!  We went around taking some photos of the nature, the dragonflies and insects whilst waiting for the concert to start.

Springleaf Nature Park

After a heavy breakfast at "Springfield Prata Place", we decided to take a stroll at the newly opened Springleaf Nature Park at around 9.30am.  The weather was good and it was not too hot.

 The park is not really very big and we followed the pathway and walked along Sungei Seletar.

 I didn't know that "Chu Kangs" actually mean "Villages".  The land that Springfield Nature Park is on formerly contained the village of Chan Chu Kang (Yup, no typo.  It is not Choa Chu Kang).  The headman then was called Chan Ah Lok so the place was named after the headman's surname - Chan. 

 The water was very clear and great for photographers who like to take reflections photo.
